They May Call Themselves Progressives, I Call Them American Communists

Since Obama began his campaign and after his election news people, conservatives and various “talking heads” have thrown around the terms, labels if you will, Socialists, Communists and of course Progressives.

There have been articles, blog postings, etc. dealing with Progressives and the Progressive agenda and its history. Yet no one has really looked or written about the relationship between Progressivism and Socialism. Yes, I am neglecting Communism because history has shown that though there may be some similarities in goals, the means of achieving them are entirely different.

In fact, recently I posted an article concerning possible Socialist Progressive presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren's eleven commandments of progressivism and compared it to the Socialist agenda from 1908 Socialist Party Platform and Manifesto of the Communists Party (Manifesto). But like all speeches by Socialists Progressives, they don't always tell the real story.

Now I will good further in depth and attempt to enlighten those who don't know that when Progressives talk about their agenda, they are REALLY talking about a Socialist Agenda.

In the following I am going to use two main sources, Center for American Progress (CAP), The Progressive Tradition in American Politics, Part 2 and the Socialist Party of America Platform of 1908 as found beginning page 373 of the History of Socialism in America by Morris Hillquit, 1910.

Other sources will be noted as required.

The format will be Progressive reforms in bold print, followed by the what the 1908 Socialist Party platform had to say on the same subject in italic with Editor's Note in bold as needed. So open your mind and look at what actually is the Socialists agenda that has been put in place by the so-called Progressives.

The eight-hour workday and 40-hour workweek1908 Shortening the workday in keeping with the increased productiveness of machinery and securing to every worker a rest period of not less than a day and a half in each week.

Worker’s compensation for on-the-job accidents1908 Abolishing official charity and substituting in its place compulsory insurance against unemployment, illness, accident, invalidism, old age and death.

Unemployment insurance1908 See above on Worker's compensation.

Social Security and Medicare to aid the elderly and Medicaid and CHIP to help low-income families and children1908 See above on Worker's compensation.

Prohibitions against child labor and workplace exploitation – 1908 Forbidding the employment of children under sixteen years of age and forbidding the interstate transportation of the products of child labor.

The legal right of people to organize within labor unions and engage in collective bargaining for fair wages and benefitsEditor's note: Although the 1908 Socialist Party Platform does not directly address this subject, it does state, The government shall also loan money to States and municipalities without interest for the purpose of carrying on public works. It shall contribute to the funds of labor organizations for the purpose of assisting their unemployed members, and shall take such other measures within its power as will lessen the widespread misery of the workers caused by the misrule of the capitalist class. Also if one researches the forming of the various labor unions though out American history you will find that a majority of those founders were socialist

The constitutional right to vote, full legal equality, and the elimination of formal discrimination for women and minorities1908 Unrestricted and equal suffrage for men and women, and we pledge ourselves to engage in an active campaign in that direction.

The graduated income and inheritance tax1908 The extension of inheritance taxes, graduated in proportion to the amount of the bequests and to the nearness of kin and a graduated income tax. Editor's note: This is also addressed in Karl Marx and Frederick Engels Manifesto of the Communists Party (Manifesto) of which Engels wrote in the Preface of the 1888 Edition: “Yet, when it [sic The Manifesto of the Communist Party] was written, we could not have called it a socialist manifesto. By Socialists, in 1847, were understood, on the one hand the adherents of the various Utopian systems: Owenites in England, Fourierists in France, both of them already reduced to the position of mere sects, and gradually dying out; on the other hand, the most multifarious social quacks who, by all manner of tinkering, professed to redress, without any danger to capital and profit, all sorts of social grievances, in both cases men outside the working-class movement, and looking rather to the “educated” classes for support.”

Protections against contaminated food and medicines1908 The enactment of further measures for general education and for the conservation of health. The bureau of education to be made a department. The creation of a department of public health.

Hundreds of millions of acres of protected wilderness areas, waterways, and national parks1908 The extension of the public domain to include mines, quarries, oil wells, forests and water power and the scientific reforestation of timber lands, and the reclamation of swamp lands. The land so reforested or reclaimed to be permanently retained as a part of the public domain.

National infrastructure including electrification, railways, airports, bridges and roads, and the Internet1908 The collective ownership of railroads, telegraphs, telephones, steamship lines and all other means of social transportation and communication.

Minimum wage laws and income support for the working poor1908 The immediate government relief for the unemployed workers by building schools, by reforesting of cutover [sic] and waste lands, by reclamation of arid tracts, and the building of canals, and by extending all other useful public works. All persons employed on such works shall be employed directly by the government under an eighthour [sic] work-day and at the prevailing union wages.” (Does this sound at all familiar?...OM)

Public education, college loans and grants for students, and the GI BillEditor's note: Although the 1908 Socialist Party Platform does not address this, I once again draw your attention to the Manifesto, “Free education for all children in public schools.

National supervision of banks and the creation of a flexible national currencyEditor's note: Again one must draw their attention to the Manifesto, Centralisation [sic] of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. (Can anyone say Federal Reserve?)

Federal insurance of bank depositsEditor's note: Please see above.

Bans on speculative banking practicesEditor's note: Please see above.

The Progressive reforms that were not directly mentioned in neither the 1908 Socialist Party Platform nor the Manifesto:

Anti-monopoly and anti-competitive regulations of corporations

Direct elections of U.S. senators, although the 1908 platform does mention abolishing the senate.

Direct primary elections of political candidates, and the initiative and referendum process in the states.

Civil service tests to replace political patronage

Regulation of the securities industry although by stretching the meaning of the Manifesto's, Centralisation [sic] of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly this could fall into part of the Socialist agenda.

Refinancing and foreclosure protections for home and farm owners.

Considering that sixteen (maybe 17) out of the twenty one or 76% (81%) of the Progressive reforms that the Center for American Progress brags about can be traced directly to the Socialist Party and/or the Manifest of the Communist Party.

I will allow you the reader to draw your own conclusion that when Democrats call themselves Progressives, they are actually American Communists using a name that won't scare the sheeple or actually show their true agenda and the media both conservative gleefully goes along.

Finally consider what the poet and Lincoln biographer Carl Sandburg, a former socialist who later supported Democrats such as Adlai Stevenson and John Kennedy, said of the 1960 Democratic platform: “That’s a very good imitation of the national Socialist Party platform adopted in Chicago in 1908.” Note: Not to be confused with the National Socialist Party of Germany, NAZI...OM

Democrats - Say One Thing to Get Elected, Do Another - HYPOCRITES

First socialist democrat candidate for U.S. Senator from Kentucky Alison Lundergan Grimes' campaign staff admits that Grimes is lying about her support for the coal industry here in KY.

Then one of her donors admits that after Grimes is elected she'll **** the coal industry.

Then she's too embarrassed to admit she voted for Obama in 2012.

Now we find out that her family's business not only just pays minimum wage but have items that degrade women.

Monday on CNN's "The Lead With Jake Tapper," the democrat candidate for U.S. Senator from Kentucky Alison Lundergan Grimes, who has been pushing for raising the minimum wage by saying, "I'm fighting for all Kentuckians, all working Americans across this nation. I don't believe $7.25 an hour raises a family of four above the poverty level," was taken to task for her families restaurant paying their employees only a minimum wage.

CNN's Chris Frates reported, "You might be surprised that Grimes' family business pays some tipped employees only minimum wage. Here in Kentucky, servers at, "Huge Jass Burgers," are making just $2.13 an hour. That's the minimum wage for tipped employees and it hasn't budged since the '90s. The minimum wage for workers who aren't making tips is $7.25 an hour, a figure that last increased five years ago."

According to CNN’s report, waiters at the “Hugh Jass Burgers” restaurant in Kentucky, Grimes’ family restaurant, make just $2.13, the minimum wage allowed to tipped employees since the 90’s.

My family is not in this race, I’m on the ballot,” Grimes said in response to questions about her family’s compensation practices.

However, CNN found that Grimes is actually somewhat, if not directly, involved in the family’s restaurant, having done legal work for the business, like signing the lease agreement and representing the restaurant in a lawsuit.

The CNN report also notes that Grimes has attacked Republicans for sexism on the campaign trail, while her family’s restaurant menu uses double entendres that could be construed as demeaning to women.

On the menu at the restaurant are food items like “Charlotte’s Rack,” with the sub-header, “Sure to be voted ‘Biggest Rack,’” and “Abby’s Hugh Jass,” named after Grimes’ sister. The restaurant also sells a novelty cooking apron with the phrase, “Check out my buns,” printed across the front.

Grimes did not respond to a request for comment from CNN’s investigative team regarding the use of double entendres at the restaurant.

Here We Go Again! Another Assault on Religion

PLEASE SEE UPDATE AT BOTTOM!!!!

Once again, the Socialist war against religion or if you prefer tradition rears its ugly head as those who want to destroy America by attacking our beliefs and more importantly destroying and misinterpreting the Constitution.

Cross at Indiana State Park Prompts Atheist Protest

Cross.jpg

A 14-inch white cross on state park property has thrust the east-Central Indiana town of Liberty into a national debate over religious icons on public lands.

And a national atheist group has jumped into the fray.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation last month sent a letter to Department of Natural Resources Director Cameron Clark telling him that a cross attached to a new war veterans memorial statute has no place at Whitewater Memorial State Park. {The park was purchased by the surrounding counties of Union, Fayette, Franklin and Wayne as a memorial to the men and women who served in World War II. Now, the question that needs to be asked, Did FEDERAL GOVERNMENT levy a tax on U.S. citizens specifically for this park? If the answer is No, then the First amendment of the Constitution is not being violated. Remember the Constitution was written to lay guidelines of what the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT can do, the Bill of Rights was written to tell the Federal government can not do and to PROTECT the States and the PEOPLE from the Federal Government. Now, did these counties establish this park as a religious institution? The name tells you that it wasn't. IT IS A MEMORIAL which means it was established to serve to preserve remembrance :  commemorative. Now, lets look at the Indiana State Constitution and ask was this park established as religious institution? Again, the answer is NO, therefore Section 6 "No money shall be drawn from the treasury, for the benefit of any religious or theological institution" of the Indiana Constitution was NOT violated...OM}

"No secular purpose, no matter how sincere, will detract from the overall message that the Latin cross stands for Christianity and the overall display promotes Christianity," wrote Rebecca S. Markert, the foundation's attorney. (So? The Federal Government or State Government DID NOT pay for or erect it...OM)

Markert added that the cross "will send a message that the government only cares about the deaths of Christian soldiers." (No it doesn't. The government had nothing to do with it except donating the land and NOT receiving payment, after all it is a PUBLIC park and belongs to the CITIZENS of Indiana...OM)

The 14-inch, white-painted cross is at the bottom of an 8-foot-tall wooden chainsaw-carved statue. At the top is a bald eagle perched above lettering that says "All gave some; Some gave all." One side of the eagle's perch is an Indiana state flag. On the other side is a soldier.

DNR officials are deciding if they will allow the carving to stay in place near the park headquarters. A message left with a DNR spokesman Monday wasn't immediately returned.

Whitewater Memorial State Park was formed in 1949 and was dedicated to World War II veterans from Union, Wayne, Fayette and Franklin counties in east Central Indiana. It's about 80 miles east of Indianapolis.

The debate over the cross erupted earlier this summer when retired Liberty restaurateur Wendell Bias sent a letter to the DNR after he saw the statue on display at the park.

Bias, a U.S. Army veteran, told The Star today that he didn't think the cross was appropriate.

"I just thought that a memorial to veterans in a veterans' park didn't need to be turned into a religious shrine," he said. (Since when is a PUBLIC PARK a place connected with a holy person or event where people go to worship. So according to Mr. Bias, IF a church group camps overnight at the park and the next morning have a prayer of thanks, it is not allowed?)

Bias didn't know who alerted the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist and agnostic group of more than 21,000 national members. The foundation didn't return a request for comment Monday.

Veterans' groups and other residents donated money to pay for the carved memorial, Union County Development Corp. president Howard Curry said. No taxpayer funds were used for the carving, which was donated to the park. (HERE IS THE CRUX OF THE MATTER! NO taxpayer money was used therefore this statue does not violate Federal OR Indiana Constitutions...OM)

The Richmond, Ind., sculptor who carved the piece, Dayle K. Lewis, said he used his chainsaw to carve the cross because that particular section of the statue "was plain and needed something," but he also wanted to set the scene of a soldier standing over a grave. The cross, he said, was a natural fit.

"We didn't think this would be a religious thing," he said.

Lewis was quite proud of the statue that he spent at least 90 hours working on, until he read a negative online article posted by an atheist group in which anonymous commenters tore it apart.

"They were talking that it was hideous, the worst sculpture they ever seen; it (the soldier) looked like a farm boy with overalls and a bad haircut," he said. "They were really ripping it."

But Lewis said he's also been heartened to received praise from national supporters. He said a California man offered to buy it if the DNR ordered it moved from the property.

The statue also has received more than its share of support in this town of 2,100 people.

Bob Napier, a Union County Korean War veteran, said his group sent a petition with 1,651 signatures to the DNR urging the agency to keep the statue where it is.

A Facebook group called "Keep the Cross Carving at Whitewater Memorial State Park" has more than 800 members.

Some have proposed removing the cross from the bottom of the statue, but Napier said that's not an option.

"We don't want that," Napier said. "We want it the way it is. We don't want to move it somewhere else, either. We want it to be at the park that is dedicated to veterans. Vets fought for freedom, but they keep taking our freedoms away from us."

But Bias said that all soldiers, not just the Christian ones, fought for their nation's freedoms.

"I've been to Arlington a couple times, and I've been to France to that cemetery over there," Bias said. "While they're mostly crosses, they're not all crosses." (This a MEMORIAL NOT A CEMETERY...OM)

It's going to be up to the DNR to determine which of these cross purposes prevails in Liberty.

Final note: When is enough going to be enough? All Patriots should write, call, email, snail mail Indiana DNR to keep the statue. As I feel I've shown, in no way does this violate the establisnment clause of the U.S. Constitution or the Indiana Constitution.

Currently the online petition is closed, maybe if people contact the author he may reopen it.

UPDATE! UPDATE!

"Governor Pence to make a ruling yesterday that the cross stays on the statue as is & will be displayed at Whitewater Memorial State Park.

To that end, this Sunday at 2 pm at Whitewater Memorial State Park there will be a Salute to Veterans, free entrance to the public 1-3 pm, hotdogs will be served, please bring a side dish. The Wisconsin pro-atheist group has stated that they will be in attendance protesting the cross on the carving. It’s essential that we remain steadfast & unified. When this group arrives in our county, which will surely generate more national attention, they need to see that we are NOT budging. We speak for ourselves.

We’ve made our opinions known and that the Governor has ruled with the majority. This WI pro-atheist group, who has no other interest in Union County, feels they should speak on our behalf to further their cause, ultimately giving them the attention they desire and lining their own coffers.

We are asking that everyone in Union County, who IS in favor of the keeping the cross put a cross OR a sign in their yard, which reads “I support the keeping the cross on the carving” (or something to that affect) prior to this weekend & keep them up through Patriot Day, 9/11. When these people arrive, they need to see that we speak for ourselves, & it will be visible everywhere they look. Let’s keep this Sunday joyful & honorable for our veterans. Bring your families to Whitewater Memorial State Park to enjoy this community event."

Let me know what you think.

Hey Liberals, The Military IS NOT Meant to be Used as a Social Experiment

It never fails that every time the brain dead elect Socialists, I mean Liberals to the highest offices in the land, eventually they will want to use the finest military in the world as a laboratory for some grand social experiment.

Whether it be "Don't ask, Don't Tell" enacted under Slick Willy Clinton and later changed by Obama to allow gays to openly serve in the military. Or the steady push to allow women to serve in combat.

I am not going to speak to the other services, but for the Marines, we have a higher standards and though many Woman Marines try, few will pass but I'm not here to debate that subject but the current proposal dealing with women serving in the UNIFORM military services I feel many may find offensive. NOT ONLY because it is discriminatory (the hair styles are mainly for the Afro-American women) but in the case of a hand to hand combat situation can lead to putting those very women in danger. It gives the enemy something to grab and in turn control the woman.

Now some may say, "These women will in rear echelon." Does anyone remember the Jessica Lynch fiasco? She was rear echelon. In the Marine Corps, there is NO REAR Echelon. EVERY MARINE IS A RIFLEMAN.

From the Stars and Stripes via way of Military.com comes this:

WASHINGTON — Under pressure from lawmakers, the Army, Navy and Air Force changed their uniform policies Monday to allow female servicemembers to sport previously banned hairstyles.

The changes came after a DOD-wide hairstyle policy review directed by Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel earlier this year. Some servicemembers and members of the Congressional Black Caucus claimed that Army regulations governing troops' hairstyles contained offensive language and unfairly targeted African-American women. (What other women wear these hairstyles...OM)

Female soldiers can now wear two-strand twists; larger braids, cornrows and twists; and ponytails during physical training.

Female sailors can wear two-strand twists and multiple braids that hang freely above the collar and cover the entire head.

Female airmen can now wear two-strand twists, French twists and Dutch braids.

Dreadlocks are still prohibited by the services.

The Marine Corps has not yet completed its review, but preliminary recommendations call for the service to authorize twists for medium and long hair. (Since when does the Corps allow a woman's hair below the collar)

The Marine Corps is asking active duty Marines and reserves to take an online survey about hairstyle policies by Friday at www.manpower.usmc.mil/application. (In all due respect to the Commandant of the Marine Corps, since when has the Corps become a democratic organization, just do what you feel is best for the Corps, our honor and traditions...OM)

After conducting their reviews, the Army and Air Force determined that the terms "matted" and "unkempt" are offensive (Did we hurt the soldier's and air person's poor little feelings? Worst things will be said to you in a combat situation or if you become a POW...OM), and they removed them from regulations. The Navy and Marine Corps concluded their regulations contain no offensive or discriminatory language. (OUT****INGSTANDING!...OM)

Hagel outlined the changes in an Aug. 11 letter to Rep. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus.

The reviews were conducted "to ensure standards are fair and respectful while also meeting our military requirements," Hagel wrote. "These reviews were informed by a panel of military personnel of mixed demographics reflective of our diverse workforce."

Fudge expressed satisfaction with the changes in a news release issued Tuesday,

"These changes recognize that traditional hairstyles worn by women of color are often necessary to meet our unique needs, and acknowledges that these hairstyles do not result in or reflect less professionalism or commitment to the high standards required to serve within our Armed Forces," she said. (The hairstyle may effect the safety of the woman and those in her unit. Maybe eventually those who have to go in and rescue her if she becomes a POW...OM)

What do you think, please let me know.
